The fabric we recommend for test sewing is poplin. We also recommend
sewing with two pieces of cutaway backing hooped with the poplin to give
the fabric more stability. In some instances, slide a piece of tearaway
under the hoop after the hoop has been placed on the machine. This procedure
helps stabilize the fabric for better results. The grain or weave in the
fabric of jackets and other garments runs up and down. Therefore, recommend that you
stitch the design on fabric hooped with the grain running up and down to produce
the best results.
