.dst/Tajima or .cnd/Condensed Data Not Stitching Correctly
dst/Tajima Design Data
This usually occurs when the .dst/Tajima data is brought up in certain
embroidery software programs and then sent directly to the machine or
transferred (saved) from the program to a floppy disk for stitching out.
In the procedure, the .dst/Tajima data is "reprocessed" and changed.
This situation is usually resolved by copying the "original" .dst/Tajima
data to a floppy disk by way of MY COMPUTER or WINDOWS EXPLORER, thus
bypassing the reprocessing of the data in the computer embroidery software program.
The procedure for copying to a floppy is to go to the folder where the design is stored.
RIGHT click on the design file name to get a drop-down list.
In the list go to SEND TO, then choose 3 ½ FLOPPY. The design is transferred to the disk.
Another solution may be to switch to another format such as .exp/Expanded data.
Both .dst/Tajima and .exp/Expanded formats are stitch files, but in some instances,
one format will run better. Once again, if possible, transfer the "original"
.exp/Expanded data to a floppy for stitching out, bypassing the computer embroidery
software program.
To further explain, there are instances where embroidery design data is too
complicated to be read effectively in some embroidery software programs.
If you find that your computer embroidery software program has difficulty
maintaining the integrity of the design data, and, if your machine has a floppy
disk drive, simply put the original design data onto a floppy disk, and bypass
bringing up the design in the computer embroidery software program.
.cnd/Condensed Design Data and Resizing
When using .cnd/Condensed data, particularly for resizing purposes, where it is
necessary to also convert the .cnd/Condensed data to .dst/Tajima or .exp/Expanded
format for stitching out, there may be instances when the computer embroidery program
cannot process .cnd/Condensed data correctly and may corrupt it.
If there is a need to bring a .cnd/Condensed design into a computer embroidery
software program for the purpose of resizing, and the .cnd/Condensed data needs
to be converted to a stitch file such as .dst/Tajima for stitching out, consider
investing in Dakota Sizer or Dakota AlphaSizer. Both programs resize and convert
between formats. Please click on the link to learn more about these programs.
